Se obtuvo como resultado la diferenciación del territorio nacional en 145 unidades denominadas unidades ambientales biofísicas (UAB), representadas a escala 1:2,000,000, empleadas como base para el análisis de las etapas de diagnóstico y pronóstico, y para construir la propuesta del POEGT.
